Narragansett, R.I. – House of Hope Rhode Island — a non-profit, Christ-centered ministry of healing, hope and reconciliation for teens and families in crisis — will host a fundraising gala, Dinner at the Dunes, on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 6 p.m. The gala will be held at the Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.

The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, dinner and silent/live auction, as well as a presentation by guest speakers Darryl & Tracy Strawberry.  Come hear their story.

Darryl Strawberry is described as a legend by many who have been dazzled by the dynamics of his game, the power he possessed at the plate, and the story of redemption that continues to bring hope to so many lives. He has earned the legendary nicknames and phrases of one of the most feared homerun hitters in the game of baseball, Straw’s Sweet Swing, Strawberry’s Field Forever and The Legendary Straw Man! Today, Darryl’s purpose and passion is serving the Lord Jesus Christ by speaking a message of hope and helping others transform their lives through the power of the gospel.

After years of dysfunctional relationships, addictions & defeated living Tracy discovered her identity in Christ. “I could never break free from my behaviors or my emotions. By the time I was 30 years of age I had divorced twice, was a single mother of 3 beautiful boys but lost in a lifestyle of addiction and a host of unhealthy relationships. I was broken and lost. I was living a lifestyle of defeat that I so desperately wanted to escape. I tried everything to turn my life around and to change. Nothing seemed to work. Change began to seem impossible for me and I started to lose hope.” One day, Tracy’s life would change dramatically. She finally embraced help and turned her life over to Jesus Christ, The Savior, The Healer and The Lord over her life.

Pastors’ Darryl & Tracy Strawberry are driven to see the multitudes saved and set free through the grace and power of Jesus Christ. They lived defeated lives, separated from God, for many years. Addictions, abuse, divorces, cancer, jail-time and other issues are just a few things that plagued their lives. In 2003, they had lost it all! But God’s plan was not to be undone. Darryl and Tracy found true redemption and restoration in Jesus Christ. Today, they share their story as a powerful illustration of the true power of God and His redeeming love. They are on a mission to lead people to Jesus Christ, and to restore lives and relationships through the power of God and the process of change.

Tickets are $100.00 per person.
