If you told me when I was in 9th grade that when I entered Rhode Island Right to Life’s oratory contest that I would
one day become their education director, I would have never believed you. However, I now stand before you as just
that, Rhode Island Right to Life’s Education Director asking that you consider entering the oratory contest. Why?
Well, because this opportunity might change the trajectory of the rest of your life, because you have nothing to lose
except the chance to begin an adventure in which your bravery and courage leads others to follow your example.
Someone once sent me the same challenge, so now I commission the same to you, do you accept? Will you enter
the oratory contest?
Years ago, my colleague, Safie Lamin accepted this challenge and went on to win our local oratory competition,
where she was then chosen to compete nationally where she won the entire competition and received a $1,000
scholarship prize. This could become your reality!
The prizes for the Rhode Island Contest are as follows: 1st place – Trip to National Contest in Kansas* plus $500,
2nd place – $250 , 3rd place – $125, 4th place – $100, 5th place – $75. The prizes for the National Contest are as follows: 1st place – $1,000 scholarship , 2nd place – $750 scholarship , 3rd place – $500 scholarship, and 4th place – $250 scholarship.
