NASHVILLE, TN – EchoLight Studios’ unique church-based distribution model, EchoLight Cinemas, has been steadily gaining in popularity since its September 2014 launch. With more than 500 churches and organizations already signed up to participate in this revolutionary program, some new power players have joined the EchoLight Cinemas program, including Gateway Church in Dallas, Texas, led by Pastor Robert Morris, and Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, led by Pastor John Hagee.
Recognizing the impact of films on culture, EchoLight Studios, a faith and family film studio and distributor, created EchoLight Cinemas to premiere authentic faith-based, theatrical-quality films inside the local church. EchoLight Cinemas partners with churches of all sizes and denominations across the U.S. to become a venue for world premiere movies of faith and redemption in their church.
“The excitement for EchoLight Cinemas is growing,” said Rick Santorum, Chairman and CEO of EchoLight Studios. “Movies have a way of impacting the culture like no other medium, and we want to equip churches and faith-based groups with high-quality, uplifting films that share messages of hope, forgiveness, truth and redemption to a world that is so desperately jaded.”
EchoLight Cinemas’ newest feature film, “Hoovey”, will debut January 31, 2015. “Hoovey” stars Patrick Warburton (“Emperor’s New Groove,” “Men in Black II”) and Lauren Holly (“NCIS,” “Picket Fences”) as Jeff and Ruth Elliott. “Hoovey” recounts the story of their son, Eric ‘Hoovey’ Elliott, a promising athlete with a passion for basketball whose dreams were threatened by a near-fatal brain tumor.
EchoLight Cinemas launched in September with its premiere film, “One Generation Away,” a docudrama that delves into the erosion of America’s religious freedoms. EchoLight Studios’ second title, Max Lucado’s “Christmas Candle,” has been made available to EchoLight Cinemas starting on November 23 and running through December 31, free of charge to the locations.
The fourth title from EchoLight Cinemas, “Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation,” starring Nickelodeon’s Amber Montana (“Haunted Hathaways”) is now filming and will be released in the Summer of 2015.
“We are excited to come alongside churches in providing great family-friendly entertainment in their communities,” said Jeff Sheets, president of EchoLight Studios. “We want to encourage other churches both large and small across the nation to sign up for this ground-breaking new medium.”
EchoLight Studios is focused on developing content with strong ministry value as tools for the Church to use in its in-reach and outreach ministries.
