By Michelle PaviaFreedom In Christ Ministries’ “Kids’ Corner” is a monthly newsletter written by church members with a heart for children. It serves as a stepping stone for spiritual growth in the lives of many children, and it is our desire to make this newsletter available to anyone interested.  As the site has the ability to translate the material in many different languages, this learning center has already been visited by almost 200 different countries! Each month follows a theme and expounds upon scripture in a way that is “kid friendly” and educational for all ages. Fun biblical facts, a link to childrens’ Christian songs, and a special verse are all part of the newsletter.  We pray that this form of education may provide a fun opportunity for you and the children God has put in your life. Below is an excerpt from October’s publication:

The Golden Rule

…Matthew 7:1-5 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Jesus is telling them (and us) not to criticize or judge people for their failures and faults, unless we want to be treated the same way. We all have our own failures and faults. No one wants to be put down and discouraged; everyone wants to be built up and encouraged! How can we judge others when we don’t even see our own faults? Once we recognize our own faults through the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we won’t be so quick to judge others. God will be encouraging us and then we can encourage others. God treats us with His love. We are to treat others with love…
