The lights are getting harder and harder to find,
the churches outside remain so dark.
It’s supposed to be the time set aside
we used to circle on our calendars and mark.
Is it because we heard Christmas
had its roots in some pagan ways?
That we allow the world to take away
this time from us to lift up our Lord’s name in praise?
Like a person who was lost
and has become one who Christ reached out to save,
do we forget what Christmas is now,
or just bury it and throw it in the grave?
The world is seeking a Hope
and looking for what is right.
This is our moment…..we should shout it out loud
and decorate our churches so bright.
