A full day of prayer and fasting together for a fresh awakening to the glory of Christ is scheduled for Rhode Island-area pastors and vocational ministers in Cranston on January 15. Sponsored by the TOGETHER church partnership, the Pastors’ Prayer Day will feature the guiding ministry of David Bryant, founder of the Concerts of Prayer movement and a former head of the National Prayer Committee.
In twelve hours of worship and intercession, leaders will pray around the theme of MORE! and will leave with a more dynamic view of the person, presence and activity of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Bryant, the Teacher and Prayer Facilitator of the prayer day, is one of the foremost leaders of the modern global prayer movement. He has written numerous books related to prayer, awakening and Christology, and today he leads Proclaim Hope! and ChristNow.com — ministries that “foster and serve a nationwide Christ-awakening movement.”
The leadership gathering will include prayer and fasting from 8:00 – 5:00 in large groups, small groups, and private times with God; a festive fellowship meal to “break the fast” at 5:30 p.m.; and a concluding Communion Service ending at 8:00 p.m. It will be hosted by the Cranston Christian Fellowship, 1114 Scituate Ave. in Cranston, Rhode Island.
The format for this unique prayer day will include brief vision teachings from David Bryant throughout the day concerning the supremacy and powerful promise of Christ. These will provide “prayer prompts” for the prayer sessions as leaders pray over their lives, their ministries and the region by praying God’s Word about God’s Son back to him.
The purpose of the Pastors’ Prayer Day is to bring together the largest cohort of pastors and vocational ministers ever convened in our area for in-depth fellowship, worship, learning, extended times of intercessory prayer. Its goals are to call on God for a sustained re-awakening to the greatness and glory of Christ, to revitalize and retool ministries, and to build stronger unity among the churches’ leaders.
Registration is due by January 7 and is available, along with additional information, at www.togetheratg.org. The cost is $40. Scholarship help is available for those in need.
