Veggie Tales in the House MINISTRY TIP

By Rev. Doug Forbes

The folks at Veggie Tales have hit another home run with their new DVD “The Best Christmas Gift.”  This new DVD teaches children how to celebrate the promise of Christmas by sharing God’s love with others through their kind words and deeds.  There are also four sing along songs that are sure to delight younger viewers, and a downloadable parent’s discussion guide.

The program reminds our young people that God made them special and loves them very much.  It also teaches them that in tough times God’s help is always, only a prayer away.

This new program is long on fun with very gentle morals and positive thoughts woven in.  I highly recommend this DVD for all ages, and it is perfect for a family film night.  All you need is popcorn! My children and grandchildren love Veggie Tales.  Our daughters attended Veggie Tales events in college and our grandchildren often ask us to play a favorite episode when they visit.

Our youngest grandchildren really enjoy visiting “Veggie Tales Heaven,” which is located at Heritage House on the West Bridgewater, Brockton line.  The big box stores usually carry the latest Veggie Tales video, but your local Christian bookstore has them all.  They also sell Veggie Tales toys, books, stickers, games, cards and everything else Veggie.

The big box stores are nice, but sometimes it’s better to shop small and local.  We love going to local toy and candy stores where we often find that special and unique gift. I would encourage you to try out the new Veggie Tales DVD.  It’s time well spent learning positive values in a very fun way!
